Sean Caffrey
Sean started as the District Manager in July of 2018 after 30 years in emergency services in Colorado, Virginia and New York. Sean has been a paramedic since 1991, holds a bachelor’s degree in emergency services administration and a master’s degree in business administration. Sean’s career history includes 13 years in leadership with the Summit County Ambulance Service, 11 years as a firefighter and volunteer officer with the Snake River Fire Protection District in Keystone and 3 years with the State EMS office in Denver. Sean is certified as a Chief EMS Officer through the Center for Public Safety Excellence and as a Fellow with the American College of Paramedic Executives. In addition to his service to CBFPD, Sean also serves as a board member of the EMS Association of Colorado, the National EMS Management Association and the International Board of Specialty Certification. Despite this extensive history, he has never had a position as exciting as the leadership of CBFPD and he his honored to be part of the great team at CBFPD!

Robert Weisbaum
I have had the honor of serving communities for 20 years in Emergency Services. I have worked the private sector, fire service, and aeromedical. I am grateful to have landed here in Crested Butte. I’m a life long learner and currently finishing my B.S in Fire Administration. Outside of work, I like to do all the normal mountain town items from skiing, snowmobiling and fly fishing.

Jeff Duke
Jeff has been a volunteer firefighter for years before becoming a part of the team as a full time paid employee. Jeff is the Assistant Chief/Maintenance Director for CBFPD.

Ric Ems
Ric has spent his entire fire career with the Crested Butte Fire Protection District as a volunteer since 1992. During his volunteer career he was instrumental in evaluating District apparatus and facilities in an effort to improve the entire infrastructure for our Fire District’s future expansion that occurred 1995.
In 1999, he became the first career firefighter employee for the Crested Butte Fire Protection District.
Ric is currently a member of the Colorado State Fire Chiefs Association, the Fire Marshal’s Association of Colorado and the Gunnison Basin Wildfire Counsel.
Ric has a Bachelor’s Degree from Western State Colorado University and maintains several certificates issued by the State of Colorado.

Randy has been a volunteer with CBFPD for many years. We are excited to welcome him into his career position of Captain.

Corey Tibljas
Corey started his fire service at CBFPD in 2002 and has been an active member ever since. A lifelong resident, Corey attended Western State University studying Business and Economics while acquiring his EMT certification. Always sharpening or learning new skills, Corey is also constantly seeking out the next adventure.

Tony Jakino
Tony also flies part time for St. Mary’s Careflight.
Tony loves the outdoors and BRAAPS every chance he can.

Veronica Jarolimek
Veronica moved to the Gunnison valley in 1994 to attend Western State College and graduated in 1999 with a major in Ski Resort management with an emphasis in Outdoor education. After graduating and leaving to explore other options, she decided to make the Gunnison County her permanent residence. Veronica joined the Crested Butte Fire Protection District as a volunteer in 2003 and in 2008 she changed her career from a white water and bike guide to a position with CBFPD as a Lieutenant/EMT Basic. Veronica has recently been named as Training Lieutenant where she will handle all the training aspects for CBFPD.

Leah Fischer joins CBFPD as a full time employee after serving CBFPD for 21 years as a volunteer. We are excited to have her on the team.

Matt DePan
I began my interest in emergency services by taking a Wilderness First Responder course, then later attaining my Wilderness EMT through NOLS/WMI. I moved to Crested Butte in 2013 and began volunteering for CBFPD as an EMT as well as with Crested Butte Search and Rescue. I became a Firefighter in 2014 and gained certification as an EMT-Intermediate in 2015. In November of 2015 I was hired on as a full time EMT-Intermediate/Firefighter for CBFPD. I enjoy fishing and skiing.

Derek is a new dad and rock solid. He also volunteers with Gunnison Fire during his off time.

Joe Blunn
Joe is an active reserve member of the Army. He loves to take selfies with your dogs so if you see him around, and he asks to take a picture with your dog - you’ll make him happy.
