FIRE DIVISION
FOR EMERGENCIES: DIAL 911
PERSONNEL: The Fire Division has 1 Chief, 2 Assistant Chief, 4 Captains, 4 Lieutenants, 31 firefighters, 5 applicants in training, and 3 junior members, totaling 47 members.
SCOPE: The Fire Division is a full service fire department provides fire suppression for structural & wild land fires as well as rescue service for vehicles & structures. Fire safety education, fire investigations & inspections are handled through the Department of Fire Prevention office (see Contacts section above).

STATION #2: Engine 2, Tanker 1, Ladder 1, Med 43
STATION #3: Engine 3, Engine 4, Tanker 2, Rescue 2, Med 44 (reserve)
PRIMARY STATION: Station #1 306 Maroon Avenue, Crested Butte
CALL VOLUME: Year 2005: 191 incidents; Year 2006 204 incidents
INSURANCE SERVICES OFFICE RATING:
Class 5 within developed municipalities on
central water supply hydrant system capable of providing
required fire flows;
Class 9 if within 5 miles of a station, and no hydrant system;
Class 10 if outside 5 miles of a station and no hydrant system; Class 1 is the best, class 10 the
lowest.
