Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support Course: Saturday, November 3 & Sunday, November 4. Richard Kalasky, our newest member, a paramedic who recently moved here from Denver, after being a CCEMT-P in Atlanta, GA for 8 years will teach this course. The PHTLS Course will be held at Station 2 in Mt. CB. The hours will be 9AM-5PM on Saturday, 11/3 & 10AM-5PM on Sunday, 11/4. The course must be limited to 15 students. If there's room, I'd like to offer local clinic EMTs, RNs, etc. and also GVH EMS EMTs to attend this course. Please RSVP whether or not you'd like to attend the course by next Wednesday 10/24. Any remaining seats will be offered to others starting Thursday. This course is open to all levels of EMTs, at no charge to our crew. (It will be offered to others for $100.). Fri, Sep 28, @ Noon, in the Mezzanine: ALS Crew, With less than two weeks remaining until 2008 capital expenditure requests are due to the CBFPD Board of Directors, it's time for another ALS Meeting. First on the agenda will be a discussion of capital expenditure requests. If we have time, an ALS member has asked that we re-visit a topic involving shift seniority. Thanks for your time!, Ross

Wednesday, September 5, ALS Meeting: At noon, Agenda items include a discussion of the EMS Division's 2008 Capital Expenditures Request to the CBFPD BOD, and a discussion of compensation for the 2008-9 Ski Season weekend primary and transfer crews. Please let me know if you have anything else to put on the agenda.

Friday, August 3rd, ALS Meeting: At noon. Since we're going to tour Mountaineer Square after lunch, seeing what areas our ambulances can access and where we can access keys to the building to gain entrance after business hours, we're going to meet at the Firehouse Grill at noon. On the agenda are changes to Rule 500. For example, EMT-Is will be allowed to use fentanyl, phenergan, and benedryl.... I'll e-mail you a Firehouse Grill menu by Monday. Please RSVP with your order. I'll call the Firehouse Grill to have our lunch ready at noon on Friday. Ross

Thursday, April 26th, 2007 at Station 2: Regularly scheduled EMS training. The topic will be "Assess and provide care to a patient experiencing non-traumatic chest pain".

Thursday, April 19th, 2007, Joint Fire/EMS training: We'll meet in the STATION 1 bays at 18:00, and after a brief discussion we'll be running a roll-over scenario up Kebler Pass Road. Thanks, Chris for the suggestion! Please respond to this e-mail so I know you received it; on Wednesday I'll make phone calls to those who don't respond to make sure everyone knows about this training. As usual, we'll be going out to dinner after training. Again, we'll meet at STATION 1.

Thursday, April 5th, 2007, Fire Officers & ALS EMTs Meeting: There will be a joint DO/ALS meeting from noon - 1PM. For the first half of the meeting the divisions will be separate, with Fire Officers meeting in the Mezzanine and ALS EMTs meeting in the EMS office. For the second half of the meeting the ALS crew will joint the Fire Officers in the Mezzanine. Please respond to this e-mail or call me at 349-5333, ext. 3 to let me know if you'll be able to attend. Pizza will be served. If you don't want pizza, you may make yourself a salad at Brick Oven Pizza to bring to the meeting. Please let me know if you want this option. Respectfully, Ross
